I may not have owned any of the man’s CDs but I can belt out The Hockey Song as well as any self respecting Canadian.
And I will always have a wonderful memory of my girl singing CA-NA-DA in her grade one class assembly in a ridiculously adorable red cowboy hat.
I was so sad to hear of his passing two days ago.
I know we have lots of great Canadian musicians but do we have musicians that will sing about Canada The Great?
I was pondering Canada’s loss as I was out and about on a particularly beautiful sunny Canadian March Saturday.
I think I captured some “Canadian moments”…
sidewalks are one part snow, one part ice and once part slush.
But thats O-kay, you can walk on the street…
on the street snow piles are six feet high and slowly melting onto the road. but you get this cool layer effect in the drifts.
melting snow and high drifts does not stop my first official street hockey sighting
Nope. Still no basketball in March
Its sunny, the snow is melting and you can just barely detect the scent of spring in the air. Its enough for this driver who is still wearing a scarf and toque but has his window down.
This guy running in shorts and a winter jacket.
My favorite art supply store still has delightfully nerdy snowflakes on their window.
20 steps away at a grocery store fresh tulips for sale
Grown men rolling around on the sunny snow like a cat on hardwood in a beam of sunshine.
the is my girl waiting for the bus soaking up the rays.
BOHEMIAN Bohemian n, adj (person) leading an unconventional life.
I love photography. It can speak for me. Taking pictures allows me to communicate where words and proper punctuation fail me. It captures something I want to save and treasure. Perhaps I was able to see something others were not...magical. I am a mother of two strange and wonderful children, guardian of a ridiculous cat, a small tribe of squirrels and a posse of possums. I love anything unique and creative, a firm believer that art exists to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. I love to make anything, sewing, painting, home renos, art journaling and of course photography. I am thankful for my blogs as an outlet and I am truly pleased that you have taken the time to read a little bit about me, I hope one or two of my pictures makes you smile.
